The skin is the largest organ in the body and we can absorb magnesium all over it! We find babies love the cream best on their backs, chest and legs and works well for tummy massages.

Adding mineral drops to your drinking water helps to start hydrating the body better from the inside and at the same time is delivering a gentle trickle of magnesium into the body that the gut can easily absorb. It's recommended to start introducing water to babies when they are at least 6 months old. 6-12 drops per litre is recommended regardless of age. Remember you are creating a natural mineral water to mimic what would be found in nature and absorbing magnesium through the gut like we would have if we were to drink mineral rich spring water.
The Baby Calm Balm delivers 50mg of elemental magnesium per tsp. Keep this next to the bed and use for massage of legs to aid in muscle relaxation if growing pains pop up, it also works well for tummy massages. We have included a 150g tube for FREE in this bundle.
Our Magnesium Cream Moisturisers are generally loved by little ones from around 12 months and up, and many families choose them as a natural next step after Baby Calm Balm, often sometime between ages 2-3. There isn’t a strict age cut-off, as every child’s skin is unique. Between 1 and 3 years, some children prefer the lighter Baby Calm Balm, while others are perfectly happy using the moisturising creams. As toddlers grow, their skin naturally becomes a little thicker, which is why many families find the creams feel more comfortable as they get older. For example if you need 800mg of elemental magnesium a day, one of many combinations you can use is:

Mineral drops in water = 200mg over 3L in 24 hours @ 9 drops/L
Oil Spritz on legs, arms, abdomen, chest, back, shoulders or arms = 300mg per 6 sprays

Magnesium Chloride Flakes (Food Grade)

250-450mg elemental magnesium in a 20-30 minute footsoak or bath

Recommended Dilution and Uses
BATH: 1 or 2 cups per bath.
FOOTSOAK: 1 dessertspoon or tablespoon full in half bucket hot water.
Mg OIL MASSAGE or COMPRESS: 50g or 60g per 100ml water (adjust lower for sensitive skin). You can also apply additional plant oil to massage. With direct application to skin in massage or compress you may experience temporary tingling sensation. The solution may be diluted further if required. As magnesium cellular stores are replenished the tingling sensation dissipates.
MOUTHWASH: 1 teaspoon per 250-350ml purified water. Store solution away from daylight. This dilution can also be used as an eye make up remover with application to cotton applicator.
MINERAL DRINKING WATER FOR ENHANCED HYDRATION: To restore minerals in drinking water after distillation, reverse osmosis filtering, or in rain water, add a small pinch (approx 0.5 gram) in 1 litre water. Some people may like a bit more if they perspire a lot. It depends how much electrolyte loss you experience. There is no one precise amount for all. Adjust to suit individual requirements.

Soak for How Long?
Whether you soak in a full bath or via a footsoak, over half an hour of soaking, magnesium absorption slows down and then stops as the skin reservoir reaches saturation. In this way the body is self-regulating. It doesn’t matter from where on the body you absorb magnesium ions.

This means that over half an hour the body can take up about the same amount from the footsoak as it can from the bath. However, the bath can deliver faster results all over the body due to the immersion and heat. This is a bonus for those recovering from surgery, injury, inflammation or other painful conditions. For these conditions use 2-3 cups magnesium flakes. The benefits of the footsoak is that it is often more convenient and uses less water and magnesium flakes.

Detox Via Magnesium Flakes Soaking:
During magnesium flakes soaking your skin also has the opportunity to excrete waste products, which lifts the load on the liver and kidneys. This is an added advantage.

Most of the magnesium in the body – about 99% – is in the muscle and bone tissue. These are the cells that can easily become dehydrated when magnesium levels get too low. It’s where we feel the effects of dehydration (such as cramping) most because we need magnesium to hold water in cells via its charge. The lower the magnesium status, the more we lose water too.

Transdermal absorption of magnesium works so well because magnesium chloride salt is highly water soluble and becomes completely incorporated in the water and easily taken up by cells without further digestion required. Dissolved in water magnesium chloride becomes ionized and in the right form for cells to use. In this ionized form magnesium can be easily transported around the body not only in the body’s fluid systems, but also trans-cellularly (from tissue cell to tissue cell).

Maintenance magnesium flakes footsoaks are recommended about 2-3 times per week – or more if stress levels are high.

Electrolyte Charged Drinking Water for Better Hydration
Magnesium Flakes can be used to make mineral alkaline drinking water from filtered, distilled or rain water.

It can also be used to make a mouth wash with a stronger concentration (1 teaspoon per 250-300mL), which is alkalising and beneficial for teeth and gum health. Magnesium is anti-inflammatory and supports healing and recovery. Magnesium chloride salt is the most bio-available and easy to absorb way to take up magnesium. It gets into your cells quickly.

Magnesium Mineral Drops for Water Supplement

To make magnesium water:

Dilute 6 to 12 drops per litre (33.8 fl. oz) of filtered drinking water according to taste and needs. This dilution mimics natural spring water and is optimal for gut absorption
Stir or shake water well after adding drops

Usage and dosing guide:

Drinking 3L per day at 8 drops per litre = 24 drops = approx. 185mg of elemental magnesium per day.
One 100mL bottle lasts about 2 months at this rate.
At a higher dose of 30 drops per day (232mg magnesium), one bottle lasts about 50 days.

For a stronger laxative or dental rinse:

Add 24 drops (approx. ½ teaspoon) or more per 8oz glass
Note: Higher doses may have a more bitter taste

Magnesium Charcoal and Pomegranate Cleanser

QUALITY STANDARD

Certified food grade magnesium chloride salt, tested in Australia to 10ppb with no leadn or mercury detected. High elemental magnesium (16%) plus 2% sea trace minerals. Not bleached, and no added chemicals.

Commonly use industrial grade magnesium chloride with environmental contaminants, or pharmaceutical grade with the other trace minerals removed, making it feel sharper and more irritating on skin.

Laboratory manufactured chelated magnesium compounds or salts to pharmaceutical standard. May contain traces of allergens or other synthetic additives like B6, which can lead to overdose in some cases.

Normal skin types can use everything

Combination/Oily skin types normally prefer the Flakes, Mineral Drops, Cleanser, Lotion and Magnesium Creams (Island Spice, Zest-Citrus, Baby Calm)

Dry/sensitive skin types normally prefer the Flakes, Mineral Drops, Cleanser and Magnesium Creams (Herbal, Sensory Gold, Baby Calm) (The magnesium lotion may be too strong for dry skin types however try it because it usually is ok)

Hypersensitivity - normally prefer the flakes for foot soaks and baths, mineral drops for drinking water, then trial the baby calm balm. Hypersensitivity can be caused by magnesium deficiency, by restoring magnesium back into the body, over time this can help lessen the severity of the hypersensitivity.

If you're magnesium deficiency symptoms result around muscle cramps, restless legs, sleep etc, you can start feeling a difference from the first day!

For those with more severe symptoms can take a bit longer as the body will be slowly refilling your reserve tank of magnesium. Day by day, week by week, month by month, things will improve.

We need magnesium every day to function properly, with over 300 jobs to do in the body and over 1000 sub jobs, magnesium is as essential as oxygen and water to the body. If you have been burning through your reserves and not replacing it, the symptoms are your body's cry for help.

If after a week you're not feeling the symptoms ease, increase your daily dose, you can't go wrong except not using enough!

Short answer: everyone needs magnesium, like we need water everyday, our body also needs magnesium, it just comes down to how much.

1. You need sufficient stomach acid to be able to digest lab-made tablet compounds and extract the magnesium ions. Tablets contain various fillers, binders, colourings and preservatives which can inhibit digestion.
2. High concentrations of magnesium do not easily cross the gut wall. Optimal gut absorption is at lower concentrations such as what would be in natural mineral water and foods.
3. Magnesium at higher concentrations in the gut attracts water, leading to loose stool and fast excretion of magnesium. When magnesium is combined with amino acids (chelated), it may be easier on the bowel due to slower transit, but it doesn't necessarily mean that all the magnesium fully transits across the gut wall to the interior so it can be taken up by tissue cells. Even the best digestive systems can't get more than 50% uptake of the magnesium in the best forms of chelated magnesium compound. At the lowest end of the spectrum is magnesium oxide, with only 4% bioavailability because it is so insoluble in water and unable to transit into cells.
5. The best use of oral magnesium tablets and powders is to treat constipation (not cramps, muscle or inflammation issues). However, that means only a very small amount makes it through to the muscles and bones of the body.
6. Magnesium chloride salt, once dissolved, is already in the right form for cellular uptake without further digestion. That’s why you can soak it up in a magnesium bath or rub it into skin via Magnesium Cream, Lotion or Oil Spritz. The skin acts as a massive reservoir able to store magnesium ions for later use by the body. This way nothing is wasted by the digestive system. It’s also an anti-ageing mineral for the skin.

Cetyl Alcohol

Potassium Sorbate

Potassium sorbate is a salt of sorbic acid naturally found in some fruits (like the berries of mountain ash). The commercial product used in skin care products, to save cost, is manufactured to be identical to the plant extract, and is allowed in organic-certified skincare products within a recommended concentration range by bodies like Australian Certified Organic (ACO) and Ecocert, as it is considered a ‘nature-identical’ preservative that is approved for these standards, and is not genetically modified.
