Why Training Burns Through Magnesium Fast
Every hard training session demands more from your cell magnesium reserves: Sweating heavily, breaking down and rebuilding muscle tissue, pushing your metabolism and dissipating lactic acid. The high energy expenditure and stress hormone circulation increase how much magnesium is used up, often faster than diet alone can replace it. In addition, if you take extra protein powder supplements it will also increase magnesium demands in order to process and use the amino acids. Calcium works to contract muscle fibres, and magnesium works to relax them in the recovery phase. Low magnesium causes muscle and joint stiffness due to the calcium and dehydration effects. Diets alone fall short of the magnesium needed to recover from high performance sport and hard physical work loads (even if you eat a natural organic fresh food diet). Signs your training is outpacing your recovery
Pushing hard is the point in building strength and endurance. The workout produces tiny micro tears in muscle tissue which the body registers in the recovery phase as requiring extra reinforcement.
