Natural emollient, moisturizer, and emulsifier. As a phospholipid it helps soften skin and provides antioxidant protection, making it beneficial for dry, sensitive, or mature skin. We use non-GMO soy lecithin. The processed lecithin used in our products has a substantial amount of proteins removed, which are associated with allergic triggers of the lecithin used in food products. Potassium sorbate is a salt of sorbic acid naturally found in some fruits (like the berries of mountain ash).  The commercial product used in skin care products, to save cost, is manufactured to be identical to the plant extract, and is allowed in organic-certified skincare products within a recommended concentration range by bodies like Australian Certified Organic (ACO) and Ecocert, as it is considered a ‘nature-identical’ preservative that is approved for these standards, and is not genetically modified.  It is effective against molds and yeasts and is often combined with other preservatives for broader protection in the product.
