Main base butter for cream consistency. Organic source, via certified fair trade from Africa.  Shea butter is one of the most similar oils to natural skin lipids. Protective, emollient and nutrient dense. We use raw organic Shea butter to retain full compliment of nutrients

Emollient emulsifier to add luxurious smooth texture and viscosity. Mixture of cetyl alcohol and stearyl alcohol, both fatty alcohols (weak alcohols).

Natural emollient, moisturizer, and emulsifier. As a phospholipid it helps soften skin and provides antioxidant protection, making it beneficial for dry, sensitive, or mature skin. We use non-GMO soy lecithin. The processed lecithin used in our products has a substantial amount of proteins removed, which are associated with allergic triggers of the lecithin used in food products. Also, the amount of lecithin used in our products is very small compared to what would normally be contained in products and has not been found to be allergenic the way it is used.

Potassium sorbate is a salt of sorbic acid naturally found in some fruits (like the berries of mountain ash).  The commercial product used in skin care products, to save cost, is manufactured to be identical to the plant extract, and is allowed in organic-certified skincare products within a recommended concentration range by bodies like Australian Certified Organic (ACO) and Ecocert, as it is considered a ‘nature-identical’ preservative that is approved for these standards, and is not genetically modified.  It is effective against molds and yeasts and is often combined with other preservatives for broader protection in the product.

For aroma. Traditionally used as anti-inflammatory, anti-microbial, and antioxidant for the skin, helping with conditions like eczema, acne, and healing minor wounds and scars. It is also used in aromatherapy to reduce stress, balance hormones, and uplift mood, and may help with skin conditions by promoting moisture and improving elasticity.

For aroma. Traditionally used as a natural mood booster and stress reliever. Its soothing properties promote relaxation, reduce anxiety, and improve sleep quality. It can also help regulate heart rate and blood pressure.

For aroma. Traditionally used for reducing scars, and treating conditions like acne and eczema. It has aromatherapy and psychological benefits, acting as a grounding, calming, and stress-reducing agent. It also possesses antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory properties.

Alpha-lipoic acid is an organic compound with antioxidant properties. It's made in small amounts by your body but also found in foods and as a supplement. In our products it works as part of the preservative system.

For pH adjustment, only if needed. In this case it is a small trace amount. It is not known to cause any issues used in this low amount in skin care products. Citric acid is considered acceptable in organic products because it is a weak organic acid found in citrus fruits and is commonly approved for food and cosmetic use under regulations for natural and organic products, acting as a pH stabilizer.
