It is not a moisturizer or skin conditioner like Elektra Magnesium Cream or Charge Lotion, however it delivers high concentration magnesium where required. The body uses magnesium to rest, recover from stress, re-hydrate cells, restore energy levels and strengthen bones. Magnesium and moisture provide more shock absorbing capacity for bones because magnesium has a strong affinity with water. Cells need it to be present in water in order to hydrate better. Magnesium is arguably the most important mineral electrolyte in the body for that reason. If magnesium levels drop too low bones cells start to leak out their calcium stores and this is the beginning of osteoporosis.

As 99% of magnesium in the body is stored in muscle and bone, blood levels are not accurate indicators of total body magnesium levels. Muscle and bone cells can sacrifice their stored magnesium in order to keep blood levels normal. By the time we show up with low magnesium levels in blood, it indicates much more severe magnesium depletion in the rest of the body. As we age, magnesium levels drop lower and lower and it becomes very difficult to get enough magnesium via digestion alone. However, magnesium via skin can bypass the digestive system and allow the body to drink up what it needs for replenishment.

The better the condition of the skin the better the absorption of magnesium. The more lipids (fats) in the skin layer the less likely you are to feel any tingling sensation from the salts. Avoid application to broken skin. Magnesium Oil is not recommended for very young children as their skin can be too sensitive. In this case magnesium baths and magnesium cream are recommended.

Each 180mL bottle of Elektra Magnesium Oil Spritz contains approximately 111 grams of magnesium chloride hexahydrate in solution of purified water (61.8%). In addition: Vegetable glycerine, Cocoyl proline, Caprylyl/Capryl glucoside, Potassium sorbate, Sodium borate, and the essential oils of Mandarin, Juniper berry and Rosalina. Six sprays delivers approx. 300mg of elemental magnesium.
SENSITIVE SKIN: Apply Elektra Magnesium Cream first when skin is dry to lubricate, condition and prepare the skin for optimal absorption of magnesium before adding extra magnesium via Elektra Magnesium Oil Spritz. The better the condition of the skin the better the absorption of magnesium. The more lipids (fats) in the skin layer the less likely the feeling of tingling sensation from the magnesium salts passing into skin. Avoid application to broken skin. If skin is very sensitive start with magnesium bathing and footsoaking, followed by Magnesium Cream application where tolerable (eg. arms and legs) and increase gradually to stronger applications as required.

I’m a second time purchaser, and I have recommended this lotion to others. The Magnesium oil and the lotion combined, definitely eases my chronic neck and forearm pain. It doesn’t stop it completely but relieves the severity to a tolerable level, with no need for oral pain relief.
